Silky, milky hair for summer

Summer is all about simple pleasures. What’s better than soaking in some sun and feeling
the wind flow through long, shiny, straight hair? But too much heat and humidity can
damage chemically treated hair.

The solution, says styling guru amir segev, lies in keeping hair healthy and manageable.
In 2004, amir segev introduced a breakthrough in hair straightening guaranteed to keep hair
healthy despite sun damage— Milk Protein Straightening Treatment or milk rebonding.

“Did you know that there is no better source of protein than milk? So why not get that
protein from the main source—milk!” says amir segev.

Milk rebonding is the latest in hair straightening technology that derives vital proteins
and vitamins from fresh milk to keep hair healthy. Instead of using harsh rebonding
chemicals, the Milk Protein Straightening solution is made of 70-percent milk.
The rest are hair- and scalp-friendly additives that extract Amino 20 and fatty acids from pure, whole milk and let them combine with the rebonding formula. Milk also
infuses the solution with Vitamins A, B, D and E. This new wonder is ideal for use on chemically treated or damaged hair.

“There are some rebonding treatments that can’t be done on colored, tinted or bleached
hair,” amir segev says. “This is because when you color or bleach, hair loses protein. But
milk rebonding brings protein back and heals the hair cuticle, so it makes hair soft, shiny and manageable.”

His salon staff is trained to strictly follow procedures when performing the milk
rebonding. Before treatment, a hair expert analyzes a client’s hair to determine its
condition and the consistency of the milk rebonding solution to use. More milk is used
for damaged hair.

Salons are provided with a formulation chart which stylists must strictly refer to for
the proper mixture of milk, special synergizer and straightening formula. The stylist
then performs a strand test before the full milk rebonding treatment. The entire process takes only three hours,
about half the time of a regular rebonding treatment.

The milk strengthens hair and leaves it soft, silky and perfectly healthy for these
sizzling summer days. After the treatment, hair can be styled in any way the client
wants. This treatment was launched in the Philippines before it hit the cities of Japan, Hong Kong,
Singapore,  Korean, China and Taiwan.
